Orange wardrobe essentials for spring 2014

unnamed

Dazzling shades of orange are all the rage this season. You may fancy coral, citrus or terra cotta. Perhaps tangerine, carrot or something fiery is more your speed? Whichever shade of orange you choose, you will be on the up and up for 2014.

Orange lips and nails were the brightest accessory on the spring 2014 runways at Rag & Bone, Creatures of the Wind and Suno. The bright color shined against the models’ glowing complexions, and it also paired perfectly with black and white basics and fun floral prints.

Bright, bold colors aren’t the easiest to pull off. They require a fair amount of confidence, a hint of inspiration and plenty of attitude.

My fellow designers are pairing orange shoes and bags with floral prints on the runways. I love it with the season’s pastels like Christian Dior has been showcasing. It’s more versatile than you might think. Muted pastels in icy blue, blush, violet and mint were shown with orange by Badgley Mischka, Emporio Armani and Zac Posen.

How can I wear this bold, fearless color? Keep it monochromatic or add a bold splash of color—think conversation pieces like necklaces, belts, bags or shoes. Some of the most current black and white color pairings include cobalt blue, fiery orange and emerald green.

Embrace the fiery orange hue. Pair it with more of my faves below. You will surely make a splash with these delicious combos.
